As the Young Alumni/Current Student Program Director, you’ll help recent grads and seniors stay connected to Our Lady’s University, each other, and the Notre Dame mission. You’ll create fun, engaging programs that keep young alumni involved and inspire them to make an impact together.

You’ll use your event planning, communication, and project management skills to grow existing programs, launch new ones, and connect young alumni to the many resources Notre Dame offers throughout their lives. You’ll work closely with the YoungND board and student leaders, making sure our programs reflect the diverse and inclusive spirit of the Notre Dame community.

Key Goals and Activities: 
  1. Oversee the 16-person YoungND Board as they plan and execute programs to enhance young alumni engagement. 
    1. Assist in the development of the board’s strategic plan, on campus alumni group meetings, and Domer Dozen young alumni recognition program.
    2. Participate in regular calls and meetings with the board chair; support the work of other board members and committees as needed. 
  2. Plan, execute, and create programs for current students, with a particular focus on transitioning seniors to young alumni. 
    1. Current signature initiatives (not limited to): Traditions Book and First Year Welcome Week Tent; First Year Legacy Reception; Home After Dome; Senior Legacy Reception; Digital Transition of seniors to young alumni
    2. Build awareness and connect current students to Notre Dame clubs and alumni groups; promote the benefits of engaging after graduation.
  3. Financial responsibility for two (2) Alumni Association restricted fund programs, including pricing for applicable events, negotiation with vendors, and adherence to budget constraints. 
    1. Contribute to and staff NDAA events including, but not limited to: Reunion, Alumni Association Leadership Conference, Alumni Board Meetings, Football Fridays at the Eck
    2. Works cross-functionally with NDAA staff focusing on the young alumni segment within each program area. (i.e. spirituality, service, career & professional, etc.); works closely with the marketing team to tailor messaging to the young alumni audience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 2 years + professional experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships and work effectively with alumni, staff, students, faculty, and University administrators
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
  • Evidence of time management, prioritization, and organizational skills 
  • Ability and creativity to build new and enhance existing programs
  • Integrity, leadership, and focus on mission
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree from Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s, or Holy Cross would be an asset
  • Experience in communications or public relations
  • Social media or marketing experience may be helpful
  • Proficient use of Google Suite, Zoom, Qualtrics, Canva and other technologies
  • Experience managing budgets
