Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Network Architect, the Network Architect assists in the design and implementation of network infrastructure components in all campus environments and manages existing network architecture, working in coordination with other software and hardware teams, network engineers and other IT and non-IT groups to deploy network architecture designs.
Additionally, this position provides solutions to improve network security, performance, and up time.
This position may require occasional weekend, and holiday hours.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with network engineers to design and implement functional on premise and cloud networks.
- Installs, configures, etc., network hardware (wired and wireless), switches, VPNs, optical hardware and SDN systems.
- Researches new technologies in support of data, VoIP, conferencing systems, and WiFi.
- Collaborates with Facilities Engineering to implement technologies into new or renovated structures.
- Oversees network maintenance including monitoring and analyzing data to improve system performance, monitoring network usage and security issues, and deploying patches to mitigate threats to university systems.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of four years of experience in network engineering
- Experience working with OSPF, BGP and other protocols, VoIP, SDN and IoT integration
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and ticket documentation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time on multiple projects simultaneously within strict timelines.
- Attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of WiFi and cellular technologies, and optical communications systems.
- Good understanding of Windows and virtualization technologies
- Working knowledge Google Suite, MS Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
- Customer service skills.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in planning and designing complex systems architectures, specifications and applications.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations of technical matters in a clear and understandable manner.
Minimum Starting Salary: $80,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $100,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
