Job Description
Position Summary
The Sociology program at Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to teach a Sociology 110 – Intro to Marriage and Family at the Lompoc Federal Prison on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:50 pm on Monday and Wednesday for the spring 2024 - 20254 semesters. Future classes may be taught at the Santa Maria campus or the Lompoc Valley Center, and could be a day or evening classes.
Please note that this is not a remote position.

Essential Functions and Qualifications
· Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
· Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
· Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
· Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
· Teach all scheduled classes.
· Maintain accurate records.
· Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in sociology
OR
Bachelor’s in sociology
AND
Master’s in anthropology, any ethnic studies, social
work or psychology

Lecture Rate: $65.74 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience
