Job Description

Job Title

Program Coordinator for Summer & Off-Campus Housing

Job Description

Join us in Residential Life where we make a difference in the student experience and their home on-campus every day. Our students are from all over the world, but for four years their home is their residential community on-campus. We care deeply about providing the best service to these students and we always strive to improve their experience. In this position, we are looking for a skilled operations and stakeholder manager who is responsive, caring, and always learning in order to provide summer housing to students and conference guests, as well as support and educate students residing off-campus.

As Program Coordinator for Summer and Off-Campus Housing, you’ll be accountable for supporting our summer housing operation for nearly 5,000 students and conference guests, as well as educational and support efforts for off-campus undergraduate and graduate students. In this role, attention to detail, close collaboration with university partners and stakeholders, a high level of confidentiality, and regular communication will be critical.

As a part of the Housing Operations team, we are searching for a professional who shares our values of humor, respect, grit, patience, inclusion, excellence, accountability, gratitude, and innovation in their work. We steward Notre Dame’s tradition of residential community through collaboration and services
to provide a fulfilling, seamless, and transformative experience for all who call our University home.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Support summer housing operations for approximately 5,000 students and conference guests, including hall operations, assignments and billing, and communication with group contacts.
  • Assist in training of Area Summer Coordinators, Community Assistants, and Conferences Assistants staff.
  • Support undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus through proactive education and resources, such as our fall and spring fairs as well as new student orientations and education sessions.
  • Participating in a housing on-call rotation approximately every six weeks limited to emergency housing support and student rooms searches.

Why we think this job is great:
  • We make an impact on the student experience every day, and we support a cornerstone experience at Notre Dame – its residential living communities.
  • Our team is awesome. We work hard, have fun, and care about each other. We believe we can do hard things and deliver excellent work.
  • Our students are AMAZING. They inspire us every day and make it fun to do our jobs.
  • The University offers extensive in-person and online professional development opportunities at no cost to the employee. Student Affairs and Residential Life also support paid professional development opportunities.
  • The University also offers medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
