Laredo College continuously accepts applications for part-time (adjunct) instructors to create a pool of candidates for each session/semester. Applications will be reviewed and positions will be filled based on department needs. Applications received for this pool will remain active for one year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Technician Adjunct instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in the area of Pharmacy. Instructor will provide students with the understanding and skill set necessary to function productively and effectively perform the daily responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician. Develop curriculum and instructional strategies aimed towards student success. Provide a safe learning environment for students and encourage the use of available support services.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities- Develop course/program curriculum to address the particular area of instruction via remote, face-to-face, or hybrid courses.
- Prepare tailored course documentation such as lesson plans, course syllabi, assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Follow daily lesson plans to ensure quality, consistency, and uniformity of classroom instruction and student conduct.
- Keep accurate attendance records and submit required Continuing Education class documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in in-service training activities offered by the institution or department.
- Use current technology to enhance effectiveness, including but not limited to computers, overhead projectors, PowerPoint, Zoom, and CANVAS platforms.
- Measure each student’s progress through the use of written exams or performance assessments essential to mastery of unit objectives.
- Inform students of course progression and provide supplemental materials and/or instruction when necessary.
- Work a flexible schedule as determined by enrollment & assigned coordinator.
- Maintain FERPA standards as applied to a public institution.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Continuing Education, Dean of Community Education, VP/Provost, and Laredo College President.

Required:- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in a Pharmacy or Healthcare setting.
- Active Texas Pharmacy Registered Technician Registration.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or a related field.
- One-year teaching/training experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to teach and solidify the necessary skills for students to launch their career in the Human Resources field.
- Must be ethical when evaluating studentoutcomes.
- Must be able to use classroom Technology to enhance effectiveness
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with the program staff andparticipants
- Must be knowledgeable, mature, and concerned with the academic progress ofparticipants
- Bilingualpreferred
- Must demonstrateenthusiasm
- Must be a self-starter and positive rolemodel
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form
- Ability to instruct and maintain emotional control under stress

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
