Yoh is hiring an Analytical Chemistry Research Assistant for a temporary project with a leading biotechnology customer in San Diego.

Location: San Diego
Duration: 3-6 months
Pay: $23-25/hr
Shift: M-F 8-5pm

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform extractions and chemical derivatizations on microbial samples for qualitative and quantitative analysis using GC-FID. utilize scientific literature to design experiments and improve methods. work alongside members of the chemistry team to describe complex metabolite profiles from plant and microbial systems to support protein engineering and plant disease platforms.

• BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Utilize fundamental lab science skills, including a strong understanding of chemical hygiene and safety, and be able to maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook.
  • Experience working with samples in the microliter volume range.
  • Experience working with analytical instrumentation (GC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office suite.
  • Follow SOPs and perform troubleshooting on procedures.
