Position Summary:

The Mathematics Department at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has openings for part-time Mathematics Instructional Support Assistants for Spring, Summer and Fall 2025 semesters.

All developmental math classes are taught in computer classrooms enabling students to advance at their own pace working within Blackboard utilizing NROC. There will be an instructional support assistant in each classroom with the instructor.

Curriculum support classes are taught in a hybrid setting. Students enrolled in the corequisite support courses will have a computer classroom available for additional support. The support will consist of assistance in their curriculum course material, utilizing WebAssign. There will be an instructional support assistant in the support classroom to assist students.

The teaching assistant’s main responsibility is to provide instruction to students. Additional duties include assisting the instructor with classroom management and other responsibilities.

Required Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E. D.)and have the recommendation of an instructor in the class or subject matter.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics; teaching experience in developmental or curriculum mathematics; experience using Pearson’s MyMathLab; proficient with the TI-84 graphing calculator.
