Under general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician III position assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures; assists in the distribution of medications, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; performs assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas. The Pharmacy Technician III may also assist the pharmacist in performing best possible medication histories for patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Three (3) years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
Experience in project management/system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI, or pharmacy buyer/biller/analyst); OR is a Pharmacy School graduate; OR expanded responsibilities over several areas OR possess a Pharmacy Intern License.
- Prior experience with IV sterile compounding preparation.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $64,519 - $80,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $30.90 - $38.41
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
