Job Description

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to oversee the proctoring and security of the department’s academic and vendor-based examinations.   

Minimum Requirements

Associate’s Degree and a minimum of three years’ of experience working in customer service, preferably in a college setting.  Experience in electronic record retrieval and data entry preferred.   Knowledge of a wide range of web technologies, web site usability, troubleshooting and familiarity with software packages and applications such as: MS Office, Student Information Systems software such as Banner, and Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard is preferred. Must be able to work Saturdays and three evenings per week.  Must meet test administration qualification as required by vendors and pass certification exams within 60 days of hire (onsite training provided).  Applicants cannot be enrolled as an undergraduate student at any time, at any institution, while employed in this position. 

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Serve as primary service provider for various types of testing services.
  2. Perform research to resolve testing related constituent issues.
  3. Prepare and provide reports related to testing services, as requested.
  4. Train proctors and other staff members, as required.
  5. Maintain security of exams and examinee confidentiality.  Coordinate technical data for special request.
  6. Process, prepare and validate student documents related to all aspects of testing and student services process.
  7. Assist with data management of testing records.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Prepare the testing room (on and off site) and manage front line services to testing candidates from check in to test completion according to National College Testing Association standards and guidelines and CCBC Testing Center policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure specific testing requirements are met for each testing entity in terms of appointment scheduling, receiving, storing, administering, and returning exams to appropriate internal/external constituencies.     
  3. Train, guide and provide work direction of part time associate staff.
  4. Enter applicable testing data and records into student information system/databases and generate reports as requested.
  5. Support testing candidates with disabilities and ensure the provision of approved testing accommodations such as assistive technology and tests in alternate format.
  6. Provide technical assistance to testing candidates and troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues, seeking assistance when needed in a time sensitive manner.
  7. Provide quality customer service to testing candidates, faculty, staff and guests while maintaining authority, security and integrity of testing operations.
  8. Assist in the development and compliance of departmental policies, practices and procedures, and identify areas of improvement.
  9. Maintain test certifications annually (or as required) by vendors.
