The EUV source team in San Diego operates in a fast-paced, uniquely innovative and challenging environment to create new-to-industry solutions with rapid productization to support an aggressive commercialization plan for the EUV technology within ASML.The Plasma Department is responsible for the development and engineering of the metrology and control loops for the EUV light source system. The complexity of the EUV source puts exciting and challenging demands on the engineering leaders.
The successful candidate for this position will be Group Lead for Project Management. The complexity of Plasma generation and corresponding organizational challenges put exciting demands on the Group Leader, who will be a manager of a high performance team of project management professionals responsible for the planning and execution of the projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively driving the project management work in the team, and above all, will use leadership and teamwork skills to solve problems, optimize team performance and develop the team members. The position will be based in San Diego, CA and will report to the Department Manager for Plasma and Metrology.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the functional project leadership team in the delivery and management of project plans, improvement waterfalls, schedules, project roadmaps, risk assessments, budgets/spending, and resource needs for multiple concurrent projects within the Plasma and Metrology organization
- Proactively scan for timing, resource, and scope gaps and drive actions to recover across the Functional Cluster project portfolio
- Continuously focus on efficiency of the group; work with department manager to define and implement structural improvements as necessary
- Organize effective teamwork and communication through meetings and motivate team members, maintain regular 1:1 routines with team members
- Take responsibility for high quality employee targets, gather information for appraisals and conduct performance reviews
- Monitor personal planning, identify bottlenecks, discuss larger/long-term picture and impact of scope/priority changes
- Focus on driving the team on proper execution to achieve high quality deliverables
- Steward the competency of project management team, enforce and enhance the business processes and best practices for the project management and product development methodologies for the department
- Drive the adoption of ASML Development Model along with the associated project tooling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Requires a degree in a STEM field, preferably Engineering, Optics or Physics, or other related science discipline, advanced degree is preferred.
- Must have 12 years minimum experience, with at least 5 years in a project leadership and/or people management role.
- Experience with both Agile and Classical project management methodologies is a plus.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead technology and product-development teams involving multiple stakeholders and constraints, balancing functional requirements against aggressive timelines and resource limitations.
- International operating experience with complex programs, specifically involving multiple development locations, critical suppliers and global customer base
- Demonstrated understanding of Program Management principals and experience in management of cross-functional programs coordinating engineering, operations, field support, marketing, etc.
- Excellent self-actuated time and task management skills with the ability to distinguish and focus on highest-impact actions.
- Affinity to managing integral business processes in fast growing and dynamic business environments
- Ability to provide direction, motivate and lead a team of project management professionals, driving the execution excellence to achieve high quality deliverables
- Ability to take decisions for the team based on existing facts, and to organize team structure and scheduling to lead towards achieving the required goals
- Experience project management tools such as Microsoft Project
- Excellence in written and verbal communication, strong social and coordination skills
Other Information
- This position is located on-site in San Diego . It works on a hybrid schedule 3 days onsite/2 days remote. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
- Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
