This position will oversee the campus grounds in order to assure their cleanliness, safety, and beauty, caring for and maintaining the appearance of lawns, parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, athletic fields, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.

As a facilities member at LLCC, you can look forward to 13 paid holidays a year and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 10 vacation days per year. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on-campus fitness center. Uniforms, shoes, and equipment is provided by the college. This position is under our Facilities Union. Salary will be no less than $35,734 per year with an excellent benefits package.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years experience in grounds maintenance/turf management.
  • Possess (or be able to obtain) Illinois Pesticide Operator’s License within the first year of employment.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug-screen, physical, and functional capacity exam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in landscape/turf management.
  • Ability to perform equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Irrigation maintenance experience.
  • Snow removal experience.
  • CDL Class C driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Push, pull or carry large or bulky objects/equipment.
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. to shoulder height and up to 70 lbs. overhead on a regular basis.
  • Stand for long periods of time. Walk up to 1 mile.
  • Conduct regular overhead work.
  • Grip, hold and operate vibration producing power equipment. Dexterity to bend, stoop and lift on a regular basis.
  • Frequent climbing (ex. ladders, stairs).
  • Ability to withstand weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat.

Position Salary

Starting salary will be no less than $35,734 per year with an excellent benefit package.
