Department Summary:

Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services (SAAS) is a student-centered unit within the Division of Student Life whose work is guided by best-practice standards and interventions utilizing a multidimensional model of student well-being.  SAAS oversees four key resources: Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), Adaptive Sports and Fitness program (ASF), Testing Accommodation Centers (TAC), and Academic Support and Access Partnerships (ASAP)  and is committed to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility by providing support services, advocacy, and academic accommodations to students with disabilities. SAAS  is strongly committed to outreach services to the academic community at large, promoting awareness of disability issues and providing support for equal access for all students. SAAS is a partner to students, faculty, and staff in the pursuit of developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the SAAS Director, the Associate Director (AD) will provide leadership, long-term vision, and daily supervision over operations for Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) and lead the work to ensure that all students receive the appropriate academic accommodations. They will also be expected to provide oversight over programs and services of the office, including direct management of the SSD department's budget, financial, and operational goals. The AD must have a working knowledge of academic accommodations, assistive technology, and auxiliary aids/services, as well as the ADA, Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). The AD must be able to determine how the laws and standards apply to providing access for the participation of disabled individuals. As a member of the SAAS Bridge (Leadership) Team,  the Associate Director will work in support of all departments within SAAS and lead work in unit initiatives, like the Accommodate platform.

This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
