Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Financial Aid Director to assist in managing the operations of the Financial Aid Office. This position involves overseeing financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing leadership to staff, and offering high-quality service to students and families. The Associate Director plays a crucial role in strategic planning, policy development, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in the administration and management of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage the allocation and disbursement of financial aid funds.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate financial aid staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in resolving complex financial aid issues.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Oversee the counseling of students and families on financial aid processes, eligibility, and award decisions.
  • Resolve escalated student concerns and appeals related to financial aid.
  • Develop and deliver financial aid workshops and presentations for students, families, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and institutional leadership.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial aid processes and records.
  • Analyze financial aid data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior administration and stakeholders.
  • Utilize data to improve financial aid strategies and student outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial aid regulations and ensure timely updates to policies and practices.
  • Participate in institutional policy-making committees and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial aid administration, including supervisory experience.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Title IV federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial aid management systems and software.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to students and families.
