POSITION TITLE: Scientific Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Scientific Coordinator position involves a wide range of duties to from involvement with research protocol, to monitoring presentation deadlines, and assisting with laboratory operations. Will support the PI in various projects including coordinating with sponsoring foundations, financial, administrative and personnel planning. Uses both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment within scope of the projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Assists with monitoring Laboratory budget.
  • Collaborative involvement in research protocol development
  • Development of case report forms, information for prospective contributing sites, and collaboration with on-site legal for development of investigator contracts
  • Assistance with REDCaps electronic data entry for remote use
  • Communication with remote research staff regarding question and protocol adherence
  • Monitoring presentation deadlines for AHA, ACC, and other appropriate scientific societies
  • Active coordination with all sponsoring foundations
  • Assistance with submission of an Investigational Device Exception (FDA/IDE) and a change request to the National Coverage Determination (CMS-NCD)
  • Collaboration with biostatistician
  • Management of medical residents and fellows who may assist with this project or those who would like to assistor function as a research intern
  • A hybrid of in-person and remote workplace responsibilities assumed to be 75:25%
  • Provides oversight of all aspects of the laboratory management, including administrative, financial and personnel planning.
  • May write and collaborate with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings. D
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for establishing and optimizing a centralized reporting and analysis function aligned with organizational goals and objectives, working closely cross functionally with Finance and IT.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key requirements and performance metrics to ensure both short-term and long-term successful organizational outcomes.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor team to execute reporting and forecasting initiatives effectively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and experience or familiarity in clinical research required.
  • Training at the RN/NP/PA or advanced degree level helpful
  • 1 plus years' experience in single site or multicenter clinical cardiovascular research involving either a technique, device, or pharmaceutical
  • Strong ability to attract, motivate, and retain research personnel.
  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, highly effective written and verbal communication, demonstrated ability to effectively work within all levels of staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative, and team orientation
  • Computer skills and knowledge of electronic database functions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $77,200 to $92,640 per year, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
