Senior Specialist, Talent Acquisition

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist (Recruiter) for our Talent Acquisition team who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

JOB SUMMARY
Supports recruitment and advertising activities for senior level faculty and staff at the Deans level and above (Directors, Deans, Associate Vice Chancellors, Chief Financial Officers, College Operation Officers, College Presidents, Vice Chancellors, Deputy Chancellor, Chancellor, etc.).

Provides coordination and support for Talent Acquisition Services assisting Talent Acquisition Manager with technical guidance and instructions for newly assigned Senior Talent Acquisition Specialists to the Department.

Assists with online application system; posts requisitions according to the employment hiring processes and department guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primarily responsible for managing customer relations with hiring managers, candidates, and internal customers to ensure an efficient and effective experience.

Primary responsibility for facilitating time to fill metrics and continually improving sourcing, recruiting, candidate and hiring manager touch points.

Review department requisition requests for temporary agency staffing and make recommendations for alternative staffing as appropriate.

Provide process training and assist in troubleshooting issues of the current Applicant Tracking System.

Represent HCC at target events, including but not limited to, conferences, special community events and Career Fairs as requested or assigned.

Coordinate Career Fair logistics and post jobs to external career sites.

Maintain, review and update physical and e-files documenting all advertised/posted positions.

Complete Applicant Tracking System user acceptance testing as needed or required.

Actively work with a variety of external and internal sources, tools and social media to source the best candidates for open positions.

Conduct employment verifications and verify Form I-9 documentation for employees as required.

Assist with preparation of training materials, including documents, brochures, and computerized presentations.

Use the Applicant Tracking System tools to efficiently source and select qualified candidates for positions by reviewing and analyzing applicant resumes, verifying minimum requirements are met and notifying candidates of missing information or documents.

Assist hiring managers to fill vacant positions utilizing the Applicant Tracking System by, reviewing and updating requisitions, determining optimal questions are populated, ensuring screening committee and employment process information and documentation is complete, and maintain and update candidates in pool requisitions.

Proactively communicate with hiring managers regarding requisition status, candidate pool quality and candidate pipeline, and submit qualified candidates to hiring manager for review and selection.

Utilize the Applicant Tracking to ensure screening committee, employment information and hiring documentation is completed as required, to maintain, update and document online employment actions, and present job offers.

Prepare weekly and ad hoc report items related to employment actions specific to pre- and post-hire candidates in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Work collaboratively with compensation on job offers and minimum qualifications.

Collaborate with Talent Relations Partner for each College on recruitment matters.

May guide/mentor lower-level specialists.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 3 years experience in recruitment, selection and onboarding required
  • Higher education experience preferred

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
