Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

University Human Resources (UHR) has an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to serve as a Classification and Compensation Specialist on the Classification and Compensation team, which is a part of the UHR Talent Management team. In partnership with the Assistant Director of Classification and Compensation, UHR leaders and campus unit leaders, the Classification and Compensation Specialist is responsible for providing guidance on the administration and implementation of staff classification and compensation programs, practices and policies. The incumbent will meet with HR Partners on a regular basis to develop strong relationships and influence campus regarding classification and compensation matters.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
Three (3) years of professional human resources experience in the areas of compensation, classification or recruitment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally.
  • Ability to work effectively with leaders and practitioners at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insight and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving and approach client issues from a solution-oriented stance.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize risks and issues and evaluate competing needs, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • SHRM-CCP, HRCI-PHR, or other relevant certification.
  • Experience in a large, complex, and decentralized organization.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Human Resources experience within higher education.

Additional Information:

Salary range $61360-$76,700.

Physical Demands

This is an office position that adheres to a standard work week. The majority of time is spent sitting at a desk at a computer workstation, however this position will also travel to other areas of campus/off-campus as needed to provide customer service/training.
