You will partner with multiple engineering teams from beginning (concept) to the end (field returns) of product lifecycle, while exploring new technologies and understanding how customers will use our products. Description
You will be working closely with engineering teams in the US and overseas to highlight and drive critical Reliability issues to ensure that our products are robust in real world use cases. You will develop and implement creative reliability tests on new hardware programs, support failure analysis and advise the team on the best path forward. In addition, you will be responsible for: - Researching new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms. - Developing new reliability tests procedures and specifications. - Applying industry standards like JEDEC/ ASTM/ IEEE to real world problems. - Preparing concise and detailed test plans, analyzing test reports and presenting results to drive program level decisions.
- MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or other relevant subject area.
- 3+ years of experience in a related field or industry
- Experience in driving Reliability test activities on IC packages/ PCBAs /electronics assemblies including Mechanical (Drop, Bend etc.) and Environmental testing.
- Understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Accelerated testing concepts.
- Proficient in statistical software such as Reliasoft, JMP, Minitab or equivalent.
- Familiar with Failure analysis techniques (LIT, X-ray/CT, SEM/EDS, etc.), and the ability to use these FA methodologies to derive a root cause of failure.
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity of how technologies work
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or other relevant subject area.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field or industry
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
