Job Description

Under general supervision, functions in the area of outpatient care and clinical support operations for the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: primarily the transgender health program population. Works in partnership with the Plastic Surgery and Urology faculty and to provide excellent clinical care and customer service in the outpatient settings. Works to provide services to further the University's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, and public service as well as the division's/hospital's goal of providing effective, efficient care. May perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEight (8) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus four (4) years of related experience/training.
Current Electrolysis license from the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire.
Experience working with transgender patient population.
- Bilingual.
- Must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- An eagerness to learn the background in plastic surgery; particularly gender affirming surgery and breast cancer reconstruction.
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening).
- Ability to utilize all 3 modalities of electrolysis: Thermolysis, galvanic and the blend.
- Skilled at using a full range of probes.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $78,509 - $97,635 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $37.60 - $46.76
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
