Summary: The Grants Director is responsible for managing the development, writing, and submission of the organization’s grant applications and reporting. This position provides leadership to the Grants Team and serves as a liaison to program and finance staff. The Grants Director is responsible for ensuring that grant proposals are strategically developed and that all the organization’s internal and external stakeholders are engaged in the process. The position manages organizational data collection for accurate and timely reporting to funders and oversees grant management documentation. Additional duties include: reviewing all grant materials and communications; ensuring the organization has a robust prospect pipeline; funder cultivation and stewardship; and working with the Development Team on funding strategies and fund development projects.
Success In This Role Looks Like:
- Overseeing a significant organizational revenue stream and manages significant organizational relationships.
- Developing an annual grants budget responsive to internal needs and external forces.
- Managing federal, state, national, corporate foundation, and local grants across HK’s programs and priorities.
- Promoting best practices in fundraising and grants management.
- Leading and managing the Grants Team and working closely with program staff to ensure well-crafted, accurate, and timely applications and reporting.
- Communicating regularly with organizational leadership to ensure funding generation and capacity building is aligned with organizational strategy.
- Participating in internal stakeholder policy development committee as needed to ensure proper fund stewardship and transparent procedures.
- Cultivating and stewarding funders, and participating in community engagement efforts to develop external relationships.
- Maintaining a rigorous and ongoing calendar of deliverables and prospect development.

What You Bring To The Team:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years’ experience in grant writing and administration
- Demonstrate strategic, creative, and critical thinking and team and individual problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Raiser’s Edge, AmpliFund, and Asana.
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment with a diverse group of coworkers, program staff, and funders.
- Ability to self-direct, self-motivate, and demonstrate non-judgmental professional decision-making.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and various deadlines simultaneously and meet all grant deadlines.
- Demonstrated grants management experience with a commitment to best practices in fundraising.
- Proficient with federal grants management and OMB compliance highly desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
