The Sinking Spring Family YMCA is seeking a Director of Youth Development to join their team. As a mission-driven organization, we are committed to promoting healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. The Director of Youth Development at the YMCA is responsible for day-to-day general administration of the program including responsibility for all children, staff supervision, budgeting, expense control, income generation, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long-range planning, and facility maintenance.
- Administer and lead the total operation of the School Age Program, Summer Camp, Child Watch, Birthday Parties, Youth & Family Events, and other programs as assigned by the Branch Executive Director.
- Nurture children by designing lesson plans.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas as well as Keystone STARS requirements.
- Recruit, hire, supervise, and develop staff and volunteers through use of Leadership Competency Model resources that create a culture of cause-driven leaders.
- Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity .
- Implement weekly planning sessions with staff to include awareness and understanding of YMCA programs, services, and customer service skills.
- Assist in preparing annual site budget.
- In serving as a member of branch management, represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and a foster positive working relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education preferred or related child development or human services field.
- Previous experience working in or managing a childcare center.
- The ability to meet the requirements of the Pennsylvania Code Title 55 Chapter 3270 Public Welfare Director qualifications and responsibilities.
