This is a civilian position that works for a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports the Air Force Academy. This position does not require military service or graduation from the United States Air Force Academy.

Position Purpose
The Association & Foundation, in support of the U.S. Air Force Academy, seeks a dynamic and creative professional to serve as our Director of Gift Funds (“Director”) reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). The Director will manage and coordinate all facets of how our gift funds are used and will facilitate the support we give to the United States Air Force Academy with the highest regard for our donor funds. This includes ensuring that our gift funds are spent in accordance with donor intent.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES
· Directly report to the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”)
· Learn and understand how the Association & Foundation interacts with the Academy and other Academy-related nonprofit organizations that support various areas of the Academy
· Manage, administrate and/or facilitate all aspects of the Association & Foundation’s fund reporting to USAFA, Foundation staff and donors
· In coordination with other team members, primarily the Gift and Data Integrity team, (“GADI”), collaborate in establishing new funds and maintain existing funds consistent with the Foundation and Association’s fund numbering structure
· Have overall responsibility for the preparation, accuracy and distribution of the monthly Gift Funds Management Report for use internally and with our USAFA constituent units.
· Serve as a liaison to USAFA Department A8D (USAFA Gift Funds Management) to facilitate offers of gifts and services, and update USAFA on the Foundation and Associations’ availability of donor funds
· Serve as the organization’s expert to all of USAFA regarding each restricted fund, its purpose, and increase the utilization and impact of gift funds; emphasize the need and requirement for USAFA feedback for purposes of stewardship reporting to donors
· Facilitate communication from USAFA (other than A8D) personnel with the appropriate senior staff
· Collaborate directly with the CEO and CFO to prepare and deliver gift offers to USAFA through A8D based on funds availability and fund requests
· Prepare and deliver grants to the other entities that support USAFA, e.g., AOG, Falcon Foundation, Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation
· Oversee accounting of all gift and gift-in-kind offers, including information to support the monthly accounting entries into Financial Edge (“FE”), the Association & Foundation’s financial accounting system
· Manage and prepare all independent contractor service agreements (“ICAs”) supporting corollary volunteer agreements (“VSAs”) between USAFA and organizational contractors
· Collaborate with all USAFA organizations to track and maximize the availability and utilization of gift funds that exist in the various entities’ accounts
· Oversee the coordination and distribution of Rando Fund to assist cadets with travel arrangements
· Oversee gift-in-kind purchases based on specific budget and schedule requirements:
o monitor delivery of such items to the Foundation and/or USAFA, including documentation of delivery to USAFA personnel
o maintain detailed accounting of purchases made and outstanding/remaining purchases
· Facilitate invoices related to accepted gift and gift in kind offers, ICAs, etc., being entered into FE accounts payable
· Supervise one staff member who assists the Director of Gift Funds with daily tasks
· Regularly monitor and be familiar with all revenue and expense activity for individual restricted gift funds in FE
· Keep abreast of Air Force, USAFA and departmental priorities, programs, personalities and events, and USAFA related organizations
· Perform other duties as assigned

· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, which will require significant organizational skills
· Apply initiative, creativity and sound judgment to appropriate situations
· Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to present complex subjects in a clear and compelling manner
· An ability to articulate eloquently the value of a federal service academy and the particular mission of the United States Air Force Academy, its curriculum, programs, research, aspirations, commitment to the nation, and the unique experience it provides cadets
· A strong work ethic, a commitment to high performance and teamwork and a proven ability and desire to reach increasingly aggressive goal.
· A willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and with a diverse constituent base
· A proven ability to meet project deadlines and maintain productive professional relationships
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS
· A bachelor’s degree is required. A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred
· A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in organizational business or grants management preferred
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and strong Excel skills are required
· A valid driver’s license and any related insurances is required
· An ability to pass a DBIDS Background check for which are required to maintain access to the Association & Foundation’s principal offices on the Academy
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000. The Association & Foundation offers a competitive benefits package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement and paid time off for all full-time employees.
